Roof Replacement in Midwest City
When a roof has reached the end of its life, we take it down to the deck and build it back properly. Before recommending that, we walk every slope, photograph what we see and tell you plainly whether a repair would still do the job.

When replacement is the right call
A new roof is a large decision, so we treat it as the last answer rather than the first. Plenty of the roofs we look at still have good years left once a few problems are corrected. Some do not. The shingles have lost their granules on every slope, the decking has gone soft, or one patch after another has stopped holding. At that point, replacing the roof costs less over time than chasing leaks.
Oklahoma roofs work hard. Hail, spring wind and long summer heat all shorten the life of asphalt, so we choose materials and an installation method suited to that, and we give the details the same care as the open field of the roof: flashing, valleys, vents and ridge.
When the findings favor a fix over a new roof, you will hear that from us directly, and our roof repair service can take it from there.
What comes with a new roof
- Removal to bare deck
- Every shingle and every layer of old underlayment comes off, all the way down to the wood. Covering an old roof with a new one hides problems and adds weight, which is why we never layer shingles.
- Deck check and repair
- With the boards exposed, we go over each sheet for rot, delamination and soft spots. Damaged wood is replaced and shown to you before it is covered, so nothing reaches the bill without your knowledge.
- Underlayment and leak barrier
- Synthetic underlayment covers the full deck. A self-adhering membrane goes into valleys, along the eaves and around pipes and chimneys, the places where water lingers longest.
- New flashing and drip edge
- Chimney, wall and pipe flashing is replaced, never reused. Fresh drip edge protects the edge of the deck and sends water cleanly into the gutters.
- Attic ventilation
- We check intake and exhaust so the attic can breathe. Balanced airflow keeps summer heat from baking the shingles from below and limits moisture through the winter.
- Protection and cleanup
- Tarps shield landscaping and siding while the old roof comes off. Each day closes with a sweep of the yard and driveway, a magnet pass for stray nails, and the debris hauled away with us.
When an aging roof is ready to come off
Grit collecting in gutters
As asphalt shingles age, the mineral coating on top wears loose and washes down. A thick layer of that grit in the gutters, or dark worn patches on the slopes, tells you the shingles are now exposed to the sun.
Curled shingles across the roof
One damaged section is a repair. When cupping, curling or cracks show up on nearly every slope, the whole roof has aged out at once.
Leaks that return after a patch
A ceiling stain that comes back after a repair usually means water is getting through worn underlayment or decking, in places a spot fix does not reach.
A dip in the roofline
A sag between rafters often signals soft or rotting decking. Get it checked soon, while the surrounding wood is still sound.
Years and hail behind it
A roof that has been through several hail seasons can carry bruising you cannot spot from the yard. Only a close look on the roof shows how much life is left.
How a replacement goes
- 1
Findings first
We go slope by slope, look into the attic and take photos as we work. Then we sit down with you, describe the roof's condition in plain terms and give an honest view on repair or replacement.
- 2
Written estimate and choices
If a new roof is the answer, you receive a written, line-item estimate, and we go through shingle styles and colors together. Where a permit is required, we pull it.
- 3
Tear-off and deck work
On the day, we cover the property, strip the roof and check the deck. Any boards that need replacing are photographed and discussed with you before we continue.
- 4
Installation and detail work
Underlayment, flashing, vents, shingles and ridge go on in sequence, with particular care at valleys and edges, where roofs tend to fail first. Most homes are finished in one to two days, weather permitting.
- 5
Final walk-through
We clean up, review the work from the roof and from the ground, then walk it with you so you can see the finished result yourself.

What shapes the price of a replacement
Every roof is measured and inspected on its own before we put a figure to it, because no two are built quite alike. Your estimate is written out line by line, so the cost of tear-off, materials, deck work and details each sits in plain view. If any line is unclear, ask and we will walk you through it.
- Roof area and slope
- Roofs are measured in squares, and the total area sets much of the price. A steep pitch slows the crew and needs extra safety equipment, which adds labor.
- The material you choose
- Architectural shingles, impact-rated shingles and metal differ in cost and in how long they last. We explain what each offers and leave the choice with you, with no push toward the priciest line.
- What the deck looks like underneath
- Decking can only be judged properly once the old shingles are gone. Any sheets that need replacing are listed separately, so an added cost never hides inside another line.
- Old layers and roof shape
- An extra layer of old shingles means more removal and more disposal. Dormers, valleys, skylights and chimneys each call for added flashing work.
- Ventilation and related work
- New vents or fresh drip edge widen the scope a little. When the gutters are tired too, our gutters service can be done at the same time as the roof.
Roof replacement questions

How can I tell whether my roof needs replacing or only a repair?
Our first visit exists to answer exactly that. We check the shingles, flashing, decking and attic, then go through the photos with you. When a repair will buy you solid years, that is the recommendation you get. The roof inspections page describes the visit more fully.
Will my homeowners insurance cover a new roof?
When hail or wind is behind the damage, a claim may pay for some or all of the replacement, depending on your policy and deductible. We can photograph and document the damage and explain the usual steps of a claim. Coverage itself is decided by the adjuster and your insurance company. Our storm damage repair page covers this in more depth.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Once the crew starts, most homes are done in one to two days. A large or steep roof, a lot of deck repair or a stretch of poor weather can add time. Your estimate comes with an expected schedule.
Do I need to be home during the work?
You do not, though we like to walk the roof with you at the start and again at the end. Tear-off is noisy. Moving cars to the street helps, as does taking down framed pictures or shelves on upper walls, since hammering carries through the framing of your home.
Can new shingles go over my existing roof?
Not with us. Taking the old roof off lets us inspect and repair the deck, install new flashing correctly and keep the weight of a second layer off your home.
Do you replace roofs outside Midwest City?
Yes. We work in Del City, Choctaw, Oklahoma City and other towns close by. The service areas page lists where we go.
